Crossing an Historic Line of Decency

Thanks to “The Crone” for inspiration on this one.

I’m sure you’ve all heard about the scandalous ad in the NYT.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), the sponsor of a new measure, said: “For and their left-wing allies to brand General Petraeus a traitor and a liar crossed a historic line of decency. It was a despicable political attack by a radical left-wing interest group.”

Then the Senate approved a resolution condemning the ad and all attacks on members of the military by 72-25.

This reveals how weak war supporters are, that now they have to flex their atrophied muscles with effete bills such as this. (Although I’m ashamed that my Senator, Dianne Feinstein-D, voted for the bill.) All over a silly ad. How threatened must they feel by our press? Any mature adult can recognize severe insecurity in people when they cannot take a little heat like this.

Then Bush pulled a typical stunt, which Karl Rove taught him well, by denouncing the people who didn’t denounce the ad. This is Junior High peer-pressure stuff, folks.

Anybody who doesn’t think Susie is a slut is not going to get invited to my party!!!

But wait, there’s more!

If a line of decency has been crossed, it was crossed by the Bush Administration when they lied to the US about our reasons to go to war with Iraq. The line of decency was crossed when anyone trying to speak out against the war was called a traitor and a terrorist-helper. It was crossed when W began setting up his fiefdom in Washington, and tossed aside our Congress like a one night stand in a cheap hotel who never found out his last name.

Times like this require indecent criticism. Bush and his administration have lost the right to “decent” dissent. The man has dismantled our democracy to the point that truth and light cannot exist. Until the force of his own negative energy opens up a wormhole in space and sucks him into another dimension, he deserves all the dissent he gets. There is no level of indecency that won’t be deserved. The gloves are off.

  1. Don’t even get me fucking started. Ugh.
Will someone please wake me up from this nightmare? Please?
