Obama is now “the man.”
Did anyone else have the same reaction to this news as I did? As soon as I heard it, I suddenly feared for his life. Weird.
Secondly, while I support Obama, it is not without some reservation. I like his message of hope, but I don’t think we can truly heal from the seven years of tribulation we just had until we acknowledge the suffering, make an accounting of it, and hold people accountable. I’m not sure Obama is going to do that. He seems eager to just skip merrily down the primrose path believing that we’re off to see the wizard. But we must pay attention to the man behind the curtain.
With that being said, who do you all think he will pick as his running mate?
Clinton <— most likely, most politically expedient choice. I wouldn’t be too pleased. But if it secures the White House, whatever.
Gore<—impossible, not terribly expedient, but I would be pleased.
Jim Webb<—this would be a nice choice! He’s another junior Senator, also has radical ideas, and is “untouched” by the system. However, it would lack the gravitas that people seem to think Obama lacks.
Bill Richardson<—a contender, and a pretty cool guy in my book
Joe Biden<— lots of experience, but he likes the sound of his own voice just a teensy bit too much. Would he try to overshadow Barack?
Wesley Clark <—Not a bad choice. Will add Military cred, Southern appeal.
Dianne Feinstein/Janet Napolitano/some other female<— wouldn’t that be a slap in Hillary’s face?
